Why deliber8 exists

Social media didn't break conversation overnight.

It optimised for speed, certainty, and engagement - not understanding.

Over time, opinions became identities. Algorithms showed us what we already agreed with. Disagreement turned into performance.

deliber8 is an attempt to reverse that.

Each day, one question is shared. Responses are anonymous. No likes. No replies. No ranking.

Instead, perspectives are carefully reflected back - showing where people agree, where they differ, and where things remain unresolved.

Not to decide who's right.

But to help us think a little more openly, together.

How it works

1

One question, daily

Each day, everyone sees the same question. No personalised feeds. No algorithmic sorting.

2

Respond anonymously

Share your honest perspective without identity, reputation, or pressure. Just your thoughts.

3

AI carefully reflects back all perspectives - where people agree, differ, and what remains unresolved.

Questions

Who decides the daily question?

Questions are carefully curated to encourage genuine reflection, not outrage. We focus on topics where multiple reasonable perspectives exist.

Why anonymous?

Anonymity removes ego and identity from the equation. When you're not defending a personal brand, you're more likely to think openly and consider other perspectives.

How does the AI summary work?

After the response window closes, AI analyses all submissions to identify areas of agreement, key differences, shared assumptions, and unresolved tensions. It reflects - it doesn't judge.

Is this just another polling app?

No. Polls reduce complex views to simple votes. deliber8 preserves nuance by collecting paragraph-length reflections and synthesising them into a collective understanding.

What is epistemic humility?

Epistemic humility is the idea that our knowledge is always incomplete.

It means recognising that our views are shaped by limited information, personal experiences, and context - and that reasonable people can arrive at different conclusions using the same facts.

Practising epistemic humility doesn't mean abandoning convictions or refusing to take a stance. It means holding beliefs with openness rather than certainty, and staying willing to revise them as new perspectives emerge.

deliber8 is built around this principle - creating space to reflect, listen, and understand before deciding.
